It seems fully intentional, though - Ubisoft Support on Twitter had this to say when asked about the Assassin's Creed games in particular: We've reached out to Ubisoft for clarification, and will inform you as and when we get an update on the situation from the publisher. Several TA members have also reported that the Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag servers are down for the Xbox 360 version, with Uplay functionality hit on both 360 and Xbox One, although Black Flag does not appear on Ubisoft's official list of closures.
